Chennai: Four persons, one of them a relative, have surrendered in court in connection with the murder of a DMDK functionary in Padi Thursday.

The relative, Vinothkumar (33), from Aminjikarai, surrendered at Thirukazhukundram court, and admitted he hired contract killers to murder Pandian, a realtor and deputy secretary of the State engineering wing of the DMDK.

The contract killers, Gautham, Narasimhan and Prashanth, surrendered at the Egmore court Friday.

Sources said Vinothkumar had demanded money from Pandian for a real estate project, but Pandian had refused to give him anything. So, Vinoth hired killers to finish him off.

On Thursday, six men on three bikes attacked Pandian around 9 am when he was returning home after dropping his son in school.
