Chennai: In an attempt to conserve and protect the biodiversity, The Habitats Trust is inviting application for ‘The Habitats Trust Grants 2019’.
The applications can be accessed from the portal (https://thehabitatstrust.org/register/) from today, said a press release.
“Any organisation working in the conservation sector is eligible to apply in the following categories- strategic partnership grant (Rs 25 lakh), lesser known habitats grant (Rs 20 lakh) and lesser known species grant (Rs 15 lakh),” the release added.
Additionally, the trust has introduced a new category ‘The Conservation Hero Grant’ to identify and support grassroots conservationists who protect India’s endangered and fragile biodiversity and natural habitats. The candidate would receive financial aid of Rs 10 lakh.
“Every application will be evaluated through a multi-level screening process by sector specialists, external auditors, in-house team and a jury of eminent conservationists from India and abroad,” the release added.
