Chennai: German automaker BMW has launched its new Z4 roadster at Rs 64.9 lakh (ex-showroom) for the sDrive20i in the country. The models will be available as completely built-up (CBU) units.

President, BMW Group India, Hans-Christian Baertels, said, ‘BMW has a rich history of roadsters that have stood out as icons of pure driving pleasure. The all-new BMW Z4 Roadster is a brand new addition to BMW’s long history of engrossing roadsters. With dynamic proportions, emotional design and thrilling sportiness, this open-top two-seater takes the classic roadster into the world of tomorrow. When the roof opens, there are no limits to driving pleasure in the all-new BMW Z4 Roadster.’

The car will be available with a choice of a BMW M Performance model, the Z4 M40i that is priced at Rs 78.9 lakh.

The car comes with LED headlights as standard, there is an optional Adaptive LED Headlight system, 19 inch M light alloy wheels, among others.

The two-litre inline four-cylinder petrol engine in the convertible sports car produces an output of 145 kW/197 hp and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. The car accelerates from 0-100 kph in 6.6 seconds in the base variant. The M40i is more powerful with 340 hp and 500 Nm and can do the 0-100 kph in just 4.5 seconds.
