Andrea’s next titled Maaligai, is directed by Kannada filmmaker Dil Sathya. A thriller, it will have the Andrea sporting two looks – that of a cop and a princess. The film revolves around an Assistant Commissioner who ventures into a palace for investigation, and ultimately gets to know her past.
Produced by Santhi Bhavani Entertainment (Kamal Bora & Rajeshkumar), the teaser of the movie was out yesterday.
Speaking at the event, the director, said, “It is an action thriller. Andrea has done a wonderful job. It is an heroine-centric movie. K S Ravikumar plays a police officer. He was friendly on the sets and motivated us a lot on the sets. A portion of the film will be shot in a period backdrop set about 300 years ago.”
Andrea says, “I am thrilled to do double role. Though we had plans to do the movie in Kannada initially, the producers and director felt that my fans in Tamil would welcome it. I thank them for it. JK, K S Ravikumar contributed their best. I am confident that people would welcome such films.”
The chief guest for the event was actor-music composer Vijay Antony. He said people of Tamilnadu are receptive to unique themes. “Maaligai has a positive vibration to it. Andrea is a wonderful actress. She will excel in any role.” He also urged Kamal Bora to do more movies in Tamil. Plans are on for a release soon.
