The ‘360youth’ group functioning in Selaiyur, comprises like-minded men and women who have come together with a common goal of empowering youngsters.

Speaking to News Today, Sunil, a core member of the group and resident of Indra Nagar, said, “The aim is to work towards the holistic development of young people. We are passionate about alleviating the status of youth of the nation, by providing various means of development across every sphere of life. This leads to transformation of our society, our nation and the world. It is true that young minds are the building blocks of society and influence the future of the country,” he said.

He further said the group is involved in conducting various events. “These are focused on building young people across their physical, social, emotional and intellectual areas like personality development training, emotional intelligence, soft skills training and creating job opportunities,” he added.

Sunil also stated that the group aims at providing a platform to those in the locality to come together and find ways to spend their time and energy in a positive manner.

“A considerable percentage of modern-day youth earn a handsome amount of money. But most of them do not know how to spend it usefully. When we arrange for a get-together, we try to streamline their thoughts. Last year, we gave about 2,000 school starter kits to children. We feel that this not only helps them spend their money in a productive way, but those who get these kits will also be motivated to do such acts in the future, thus creating a better society,” he said.

The group has a strength of about 350 members, who come together during various activities. “At present, some of our volunteers are involved in the Selaiyur lake clean-up,” he added.
