Chennai: Chennai Spartans created history by becoming the first Pro Volleyball League team to secure a win in the Asian Mens Club Volleyball Championship.
Spartans defeated Thailands EST Cola 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-9 in a tightly-contested fixture in Chinese Taipei.

The Thai team drew parity by clinching the second set.
The M H Kumara-coached outfit restored its advantage in the third set only for it to be levelled later. In the decider, Spartans held their nerve and came up trumps.
