Chennai: M Ganesh Moorthi (6/46) scalped his first five-wicket haul of the season as Madras CC collected five points against MRC ‘A’ in the TNCA First Division 10th round match at VB Nest here on Monday.

After declaring its first innings at 433 for 7, MCC bowled out MRC for a paltry 178, thanks to Ganesh’s top spell. The left-arm spinner took six wickets for just 46 runs. MCC was awarded five points courtesy its first innings lead.

In another match at the IC Guru Nanak College Ground, Rahil Shah (6/71) took a six-wicket haul to help Vijay get five points against Nelson.

Brief scores: MCC 433 for 7 decl. drew with MRC ‘A’ 178 in 73.4 overs (B Rahul 79*, Cheteshwar Pujara 25, M Ganesh Moorthi 6/46, P Sakthi 3/58). Points: MCC 5 (35); MRC ‘A’ 2 (33). Vijay 397 drew with Nelson 259 in 100 overs (Anand Subramanian 87, Robin Bist 62, Swapnil K Singh 46, Rahil Shah 6/71). Points: Vijay 5 (44); Nelson 2 (33).

India Pistons 155 and 208 beat TI Cycles 72 and 160 in 48.1 overs (Kunal Chandela 91, Rajwinder Singh 5/46, M Prabhu 3/90). Points: Pistons 8 (36); Cycles 0 (24).

Grand Slam 426 for 8 decl. drew with Alwarpet 296 in 79.5 overs (Manprit Juneja 132, U Mukilesh 68, M Abhinav 5/70, B Arun 3/81). Points: Grand Slam 5 (44); Alwarpet 2 (46).

Young Stars 229 and 165 for 7 decl. in 67 overs (R Sathyanarayan 61, B Aparajith 3/52) drew with Jolly Rovers 237. Points: Rovers 5 (44); Stars 2 (40).
