Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Weather Forecasting and Early Warning Research Center (AWARE) has issued warning to fishermen regarding the prevailing depression in the sea.
The sea is predicted to be rough with high tides and high-speed winds and Fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea fro 27 April and men who are already in the sea have been advised to return by 28 April.
Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) has started issuing alerts on the prevailing cyclonic storm to fishermen through IVRS calls.
“People are also advised not to go to beaches or the seashore because of the rough sea conditions. The RTGS is closely monitoring the movement of deep depression,” RTG CEO Babu Ahamed has been quoted saying.
Based on an IMD report, the State Disaster Management Authority has said in the next 24 hours the depression in the east equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Bay of Bengal would intensify further into a deep depression and into a cyclonic storm in the subsequent 12 hours.
This could in turn become a severe cyclonic storm by the time it reaches south AP coast on 30 April, said the report.
Meanwhile, the SDMA has warned of severe heatwave condition with temperatures touching up to 46 degrees Celsius in many districts in the State over the next five days. The SDMA has asked the district authorities to take necessary steps to mitigate the heat wave effects.
