Chennai: Legal, tax and compliance tech company, Vakilsearch is seeking to raise over $5 million in Series B funding.
Early-stage investors Kalaari, who backed the company in the two early rounds, will be joined by new investors as the company rides the boom in legal, tax and compliance demand in India, the firm said in a release.
The firm will use the funding to further boost the range of service offerings and the cities it covers, it said.
CEO, Vakilsearch, Hrishikesh Datar, said, “In the last seven years, Vakilsearch has become India’s largest legal, tax and compliance tech company. We have created ripples in the Indian start-up scene offering a combination of accessibility and quality and aim to be the first Indian unicorn in this space.”
The Supreme Court Bar Association and the Maharashtra Bar Council, among others, have joined hands with Vakilsearch for the launch of Go-Digital initiatives – and bringing the lawyers in their associations online using Vakilsearch’s LIBRA – the Advocate’s App, the release said.
