Coimbatore: The Tamilnadu police arrested a 53-year-old man yesterday for allegedly making a hoax bomb threat call.
The man, a groundnut merchant, had made the call saying his friend, a Sri Lankan refugee, had planted an explosive device at Pollachi railway station.
Following this, the officials made a thorough check at the station and found that the call was a hoax. The man was arrested after his call was traced.
He confessed that he had made the call on Saturday night in an inebriated state to get revenge on his friend as his wife had refused to respond to his queries on the health condition of her father.
