Pudur Main Road to get fresh coat of tarmac

Pudur Main Road

Chennai: Officials have milled part of Pudur Main Road starting from Thangal Lake park to lay a new coat of tarmac.

Residents state that the new road is welcome but said officials must monitor the work that is done by contractors.

“It is a known fact that when a new road is laid, the thickness of it is more than what is needed. This has led to houses going below the road level, making it tough during rainy season. Officials need to monitor the work undertaken,” said Suresh, a resident.

“There is no notice board regarding the work and there is no information such as when the work would end, what is the estimated cost; either. Authorities need to follow the rules,” said Gokulakrishnan, a student.
