Chennai: The underground cable laying work undertaken by the local Tangedco division is currently underway at Banu Nagar in Pudur.
Much to the joy of residents, the work is going on at a steady pace with the whole neighbourhood likely to get superior electric lines than those currently available.
“It is good to see the work being done quickly. We would like it to be completed by this summer. It would mean we get continuous electricity throughout the year. However, while laying the cables, authorities need to lay them in such a way that they are accessible for repair works to be undertaken, if and when needed,” said Dinesh, a resident.
