Chennai: A six-year-old boy died after a water tanker ran over him at Vanagaram this morning.
The victim was identified as Darshan, son of Kumaresan (30), a mechanic, and Geetha (27), of Selliamman Nagar, Thiruverkadu.
The couple also has a daughter, Diya (3).
This morning, at 9, Geetha took both of them on her two-wheeler to a relative’s place in Vanagaram.
When she reached Pallipattu, due to sand accumulation on the roadside, the vehicle skidded and fell, throwing Darshan on the road. Unfortunately, a water tanker coming from behind ran over Darshan, killing him on the spot.
The police arrested driver Jaisingh. The Poonamallee Traffic Investigation wing has registered a case.
