Kallakurichi MLA Prabhu

Chennai: Assembly Secretary K Srinivasan today said the Supreme Court’s stay order on Speaker P Dhanapal’s notice to AIADMK MLAs is also applicable for Kallakurichi MLA Prabhu.

The clarification was given after Prabhu gave a petition to the Assembly Secretary whether the Supreme Court’s verdict was applicable to him also. If it does not apply, he sought one week’s time to explain his stand.

The Supreme Court issued a stay on Dhanapal’s notice based on the petitions filed by AIADMK MLAs Rathina Sabapathy and Kalaiselvan.

The Speaker had issued notice based on the recommendation made by the government whip S Rajendran asking the three MLAs to be disqualified for anti-party activities.
