Hyderabad: Days after the alleged goof up in the declaration of intermediate exam results, BJP in Telangana have decided to meet the President Ram Nath Kovind, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other top leaders in the Centre this week.
26 students were said to have allegedly committed suicide and this led to widespread protests and condemnation in the State. Following this, State BJP president K Laxman Singh said the State BJP members would visit Delhi on 9 and 10 May and also meet President Ram Nath Kovind and the National Human Rights Commission representatives.
It was also reported that today and tomorrow, BJP leaders in four separate teams, headed by Laxman, party general secretary Muralidhar Rao, former MLA G Kishan Reddy and party MP Bandaru Dattatreya, would meet the families of 26 students who had ended their lives. They would also hold meeting with parents of children who appeared for the Intermediate exams on 15 and 16 May.
On 11 and 12 May, BJP would undertake one-day fast by involving the students parents, said a media report. Laxman accused the Telangana government of lacking sensitivity as it has not responded to the opposition protests. The BJP also demanded that the government take up revaluation of answer sheets instead of re-verification.
