Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today said the foundation stone for ten companies that signed MoU with the government during the Global Investors Meet 2019 will be laid in June.
Addressing mediapersons at Thoothukudi airport today, he said the foundation stone is all set to be laid based on the invite by the companies.
“The government signed 304 agreements with various companies attracting investments to the tune of Rs 3,00,431 crore during the GIM which was held in January 2019. This will create about five lakh direct jobs and 5.50 lakh indirect jobs for youngsters,” he said.
He further said students of Tamilnadu are very talented and the State leads in education. “It is only because of the various schemes implemented by former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa which is followed by the present government that the students from the State are selected for various jobs across the country. They are employed purely based on merit and talent,” he added.
Talking about the election results he said the AIADMK alliance had fielded eligible candidates and met the people and sought votes. “We will win with the support of our alliance parties,” he added.
He also took a jibe at the Opposition parties and said, “They are deliberately creating a bad image for the Election Commission of India. A party which is sure of winning will never invovle in such activities. Only because of the fear of defeat, they are indulging in such things. ECI is an individual body which cannot be influenced by anyone. Changing of EVMs is the work of the ECI and we do not have a say in it,” he added.
He also hit out at the AMMK and said, “I have several times told that the AMMK and DMK are working together to topple this government. Now this has proven true by the statement of AMMK spokesperson Thanga Tamilselvan. AIADMK will emerge victorious in all the seats in the byelections and this government will continue. Stalin is dreaming that his party will win this election, but people do not think so.”
