Chennai: The city police are conducting an inquiry after a 17-year-old girl fell from the third floor of a building at Aynavaram last night.

According to the police, Deepika, a school student, was sitting on the edge of the terrace of her house when she fell. She was speaking over the phone when the incident happened.

Deepika’s mother and brother Arvind, who were with her when the incident took place, claimed it was an accidental fall.

However, the police are questioning several people in this regard. Deepika suffered head and leg injuries after she fell and was rushed to Government Kilpauk Hospital from where she was referred to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
