Hyderabad: Nalgonda in Telangana witnessed the highest maximum temperature of 45 degree Celsius even as heatwave conditions continued in the State.
The India Meteorological Department predicted heatwave conditions would likely prevail over some parts of the state even today.
Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (40 to 50 kmph) and lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana, said the IMD.
The temperature crossed 40 degree in many parts of the State, while Khammam recorded 44.8 degree Celsius on Wednesday and Hyderabad registered 42.1.
The temperatures may touch 46.5-47 degree Celsius in May but the probability of the mercury touching 48 degrees is very less this year, said Met department.
