Chennai: The BJP and Congress State presidents in Tamilnadu have expressed similar views that the formation of a third front will benefit the NDA more, ahead of the meeting of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao with DMK president M K Stalin this evening.
President of the Bharatiya Janata Party Tamilnadu unit, Tamilisai Soundararajan, said, “KCR’s decision to form a third front in itself is a move that will benefit the BJP. It is not a permanent bond. It (third front) will fall apart any time,” Tamilisai said, and added that the meeting between Stalin and KCR will only add to the confusion.
Tamilisai’s views were mirrored by Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K S Alagiri. Alagiri opined that if a third front was formed, it will split the seats and become advantageous for the NDA to form the government again.
He said, “In the present situation, the formation of a third front is impossible. Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami think that if a third front is formed, it will be safe for them.”
Commenting on KCR meeting Stalin, State Minister D Jayakumar said, “The DMK is a party that travels on two boats. It will act as if it is protecting the milk and be friendly with a cat. It has already sent an emissary to Delhi to ask for five Cabinet Minister posts for the party.”
