Chennai: A 1.5-year-old boy, who fell from the terrace of a house at Choolaimedu, died yesterday at a government hospital.
According to the police, the toddler, Mohammed Nazeer, was under treatment at Institute of Child Health and Hospital, Egmore, since 4 May.
His parents are Bhanu (23), a homemaker, and Moideen (31), a car driver. He has an older brother, aged 4. The family lived on the first floor of an independent house at Gangaimman Koil Street, Choolaimedu.
On 4 May, the two siblings were playing with a ball on the terrace and the older son asked Bhanu for water. When she went to fetch it, he threw the ball from the terrace and ran down to take it. In his absence, the baby crawled to the edge of the terrace and peeped down to see where his brother was. While doing so, he fell.
