Puducherry: A 9-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a 27-year-old man at her house in a nearby village on Thursday.
According to a media report, the accused was Puducherry government electricity department employee. He had come to the girl’s house for noting down the power consumption details. When he realised that the girl’s parent’s were not at home, he assaulted the girl and then threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed about it to anyone.
When the parents returned, the girl complained to them and they in turn lodged a complaint. The police subsequently arrested the accused and registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
