Chennai: A Special Sub-Inspector, returning home from duty, suffered chest pain and died on the road near St Thomas Mount Friday.
According to the police, Venkatesan (57) lived at Avadi. He was working at Pattabiram police station for the past one-and-a-half years.
He was attending a two-day, in-service programme at St Thomas Mount police station. On Friday, he attended the training and was returning home at 5.30 pm when he suffered chest pain. He fainted on the road. Passersby rushed him to Government Saidapet Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
His is survived by his wife Govinthammal, two daughters and a son.
