Chennai: Narasimha Jayanthi was celebrated at the Mahalakshmi Temple (popularly known as Ashtalakshmi Temple) in Besant Nagar yesterday with all piety.
According to a release, there was Narasimha homam at 8 am which concluded with mahapoornahuthi at 10.30 am.
This was followed by special abhishekam (thirumanjanam) at 11 am. The devotees who had gathered for the rituals were given theertha prasadam at 12.30 pm.
In the evening, there was pushpa alankaram (flower decoration of the deity) at 4 and sahasranama archanai at 5.30 pm. There was prasadam distribution after that at 7.30 pm.
