Chennai: The response to a Adyar Talk (News Today sister publication) story on Subhadra Home for the elderly, at Uthandi, ECR, has been overwhelming for its founder J Bharathi, and other inmates.

Following the report, she has been flooded with inquiries and many are offering to provide help.

Bharathi says, “I got a number of calls and around ten people visited us after seeing the story. Five of them who were above 90, wanted to meet me in person. I went and met them at Besant Nagar. Now they want to contribute in some way for the senior citizens living with us.”

The home is run in a rented three-storeyed building with 30 inmates-both men and women in the age group of 36 to 95 with 23 women and eight men. It is registered and licensed by the government.
