Chennai: A RPF constable’s timely act helped save the life of a five-year-old girl at Platform number 4 in Egmore Railway Station last night.
According to sources, a middle-aged man identified as Ashwini Kumar, was all set to board Uzhavan Express in Egmore. He was returning to Thanjavur after visiting his native village in Bihar. His five-year-old daughter Anmol Sharma was with him.
When Ashwini Kumar’s daughter was about to board the train, it started and her legs almost got struck between the train and platform. A RPF constable S V Jose who was on duty at place, acted swiftly and pulled her out of the train. He alerted the guard and the train was immediately halted.
After a delay, it started. Both Ashwini Kumar and his daughter boarded the train safely later. All those present at the platform appreciated the constable’s good work.
