Amaravati: The 15th Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly’s first session will begin on 12 June at 11.05 am, said an official notification.
On 12 and 13, the newly elected Assembly members will take oath. The Speaker will be elected on 13th. Governor E S L Narasimhan will address a joint session of the Assembly and the Council on 14 June.
In the recently held Lok Sabha elections, Jagan Mohan-led YSR Congress won 151 of the total 175 seats in the House. The Telugu Desam Party which bagged only 23 seats was unseated. Meanwhile, the Jana Sena led by Pawan Kalyan won just one seat.
A senior legislator will be appointed first as pro-tem Speaker prior to the commencement of the assembly session, and the governor will administer the oath to the pro-tem speaker who, in turn, will administer the oath to the new MLAs.
