Hyderabad: The Telangana government yesterday announced the proposed 119 residential schools for Backward Classes would be formally inaugurated on 17 June.

According to a media report, either State ministers or concerned MLAs would open the schools in the respective districts and assembly constituencies.

There are 142 such schools existing already and the total now would go up to 261. Prior to the formation of the State, there were only 19 BC residential schools and thus in all, there will be 280 Backward Classes residential schools, the report quoted an official release.
