Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a woman was pushed out from a moving car in the city on 9 May and the visual that was captured on a CCTV has gone viral.

According to media reports, the woman was allegedly pushed by her husband.

In the video of the incident that occurred on a road in a residential area in Thudiyalur, the woman is seen falling off the car even as some bystanders look at her.

The case was registered after police came to know about the incident while taking up periodic review of the CCTV footage from the area.

Aarthi and Arun Joe Amalraj entered wedlock in 2008 and the couple has two daughters. According to reports, Aarthi was in an abusive marriage where Arun regularly assaulted her and their children for trivial issues. As a result, Aarthi moved to her parents’ place in 2014. Later, Aarthi shifted to Mumbai along with her daughters and started working in the city.

They reportedly filed for a divorce and during that period, Arun had approached Aarthi to rekindle their relationship which she accepted. She resigned her job and shifted back to Coimbatore. They went on a tour along with Arun’s parents and during that trip the couple allegedly fought again.

Then they were on their way to Chennai, when Arun allegedly pushed Aarthi from the moving car. She was injured severely and filed a complaint against Arun and his parents for attempting to murder her.

Her husband has been booked under various sections of Indian Penal Code, including 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt and 506(1) (punishment for criminal intimidation). The police are on the look out for him.
