New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday announced a committee will be set up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving time-bound suggestions on the issue of ‘one nation, one election.’ Also the composition of the committee will be decided by Modi.
After the all-party meeting on the issue, Rajnath addressed mediapersons. The idea of conducting simultaneous polls to Lok Sabha and State assemblies was supported by most of the parties, he said.
Although CPI and the CPI (M) had difference of opinion on how the exercise of joint elections will be held, they were not opposed to it, added Rajnath.
