Chennai: Leading branded apparel makers, Kewal Kiran Clothing Ltd, has announced that the brand is looking at opening medium sized stores.
The makers of Killer Jeans will open stores in the range of 2,000 sq.ft. to 4,000 sq.ft. to showcase all its menswear brands and newly launched womenswear brand, Desi Belle.
A release said the firm is expecting to be a one shop destination for both men and women with regards to their shopping needs.
This necessitates medium size store formats for better display and pleasant experience for shoppers as in smaller towns and cities the shopping culture varies as compared to urban shoppers and their shopping behaviour.
The smaller store formats will help the brand reach store count of 500 in the next five years, said the firm and added that it is expecting 75 stores of those would be medium size stores. The current retail stores count stands at 336.
Commenting on the development, CFO, Bhavin Sheth, said, ‘Our strategy to expand medium size formats would give us good traction in our sales. As our strategy was always long-term and have been working with our franchise owners for more than three decades, we are confident that this will pay off well to increase our revenues in the next couple of years.’
