Chennai: Batsman S Sri Abisek (104) hit a century as City II defeated City I by 15 runs in the TNCA round-robin Under-19 One-Day match at the Murugappa Ground here on Wednesday.

City II posted 205 for four in its 45 overs, thanks to Sri Abisek’s century. His match-winning knock included eight fours and a solitary maximum. The victor dismissed City I for 190 in the same number of overs. In another match, City III (225 for 8) defeated City IV (224 for 9) by two wickets in a close contest.

Brief scores: City II 205 for 4 in 45 overs (S Sri Abisek 104, S Sunil Rithik 41, P Kumaravel 35) beat City I 190 in 45 overs (B Sai Sudharsan 72, S Aakash 33, S Rithik Easwaran 42, Arya Yohan Menon 3/39, GS Samuvel Raj 3/30, K Vaidyanathan 3/47)

City IV 224 for 9 in 42 overs (C Saffin 42, Arjun P Murthy 51, M Vishal 43) lost to City III 225 for 8 in 41.5 overs (Tushar Raheja 39, R Anirudh Seshadhri 82, Raghavendra Ravi Kumar 32, H Prashid Akash 3/33).
