Chennai:Â Customs duty on gold and precious metals has been increased by 2.5 per cent, from 10 per cent to 12.5 per cent in the Union Budget 2019-2020 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman this morning.
This will make the price of gold jewellery, which has been going northward, go up further.
Today’s gold rate in Chennai was Rs 3,262 per gram.
