Chennai: A man has been taken into custody for attacking his mother-in-law with a blade at Triplicane after she did not allow him to see his new born baby.
According to the police, Pachaiammal (58) of Velacheri was at Government Kasturba Gandhi Hospital for Women and Children, Triplicane, were her daughter Subbulakshmi had just delivered a baby yesterday.
Subbalakshmi’s husband, Ranjith Kumar, a painter from Pattinampakkam arrived at the hospital in an inebriate condition. On seeing him, Pachaiammal said he cannot see the baby under the influence of alcohol. An argument took place between the duo regarding this and Ranjith took a blade an attacked Pachaiammal. Subsequently, Triplicane police arrested Ranjith.
