Chennai: A cave in at a construction site killed a worker at Neelankarai Periya Kuppam yesterday.
According to sources, three workers identified as Ezhumalai, Annamalai and Ramesh were involved in building a septic tank at Periya Kuppam. When the rains began, the mud caved in burying the three men.
Even as Ezhumalai and Annamalai were rescued, Ramesh was buried deep under the mud and died. Fire and Rescue Services arrived at the spot and fished his body out.
