Chennai: A Bhakth, a resident of Kilpauk Garden, is studying Class I in Maharishi Vidya Mandir School at Chepet. He has won several awards and accolades.

He was awarded for his Math skills five years ahead of school grade and three years ahead in English. The challenge was aimed to encourage mathematical thinking and reading efficiency among participants. Over 100 students participated in it and Bhakth bagged the award of excellence.

Speaking to News Today, Bhakth’s mother Swathi, said, “While my son was in kindergarten, I enrolled him in a private training centre at Anna Nagar. They train the students on a unique technique to develop their academic ability and independence. My son was very fascinated in learning and completing the Maths and English worksheets. Identifying his talent, the centre upgraded his lessons. Studying in Class I, he is now able to do Class V maths and read Class III English. At present, he is concentrating on fractions and decimals.”

Swathi adds, “He enjoys school because he is ahead of his peers. Initially, I gave him crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. Being an early finisher, he constantly asks for a new activity every time. At first it made me happy but now I find it challenging to keep him engrossed,” she added.

Thirsty for knowledge and hungry for success, he has now memorised 18 verses in Sanskrit from Bhagavad Gita in a short period of two days. He has won 18 medals and 14 trophies in various contests. In his spare time, he enjoys playing Carrom and Air Hockey.

This little boy, Bhakth maintains silence and replies to questions asked by his mother. Later he interacted saying, “I have participated in many competitions, won medals and trophies. I am learning drums and art at present. I want to become a scientist when I grow up.”

Bhakth’s mother can be contacted at 99419 30007.
