Chennai: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old girl ended her life 10 days after her boyfriend committed suicide in Korukkupet.
According to the police, Archana, a class 11 student and resident of Bharathi Nagar, Korukkupet, committed suicide at her grandmothers house in J J Nagar in the same area.
The police said Archana, daughter of Anna Durai, was in a relationship with her neighbour Ilango (18). When the families found out, they were warned to keep away from each other.
Ilango committed suicide 10 days ago. Since the incident affected Archana, her family sent her to the house of Anna Durais mother in J J Nagar.
This morning, when her grandmother went to a nearby shop, the young girl ended her life.
The R K Nagar police sent her body to Government Stanley Hospital for post-mortem.
A case has been registered.
