Chennai: The city police have a tough task in hand- a case which is a deadly combination of sex and sleaze. Besides searching for a body dumped in the deep Kasimedu coast, they are also making attempts to track down a woman advocate who orchestrated the murder of a 50-year-old man from Indira Nagar, Adyar.

According to sources, N Suresh Bharadwaj had gone missing on 21 June. A wealthy unmarried man, he was taking care of his two aged aunts who were living with him. Initially, Adyar police registered a man-missing case and conducted inquiries. They found that Suresh left his mobile phone with his car driver before he went missing.

His calls records and available CCTV details showed he had met an advocate Preethi in Adyar. After police conducted an inquiry with her, she went underground. Her mobile phone records showed that she had established contact with a history sheeter ‘Kudimi’ Prakash (30). Police took Prakash into custody and he confessed to murdering Suresh.

“Suresh had recently hired a 40-year-old housemaid to take care of his two aunts. However, he allegedly demanded sexual favours from her. The maid refused to his advances and complained to advocate Preethi about Suresh. Preethi took advantage of the situation and received Rs 65 lakh from the victim with the promise of uniting him with the maid,” reports said. Police said the maid was unaware of the ransom. When Suresh grew impatient, he asked Preethi to return the cash or fulfill his wish.

This is when Preethi plotted the murder with the help of Prakash. On 21 June, Suresh was asked to come to Parry’s Corner, where Preethi picked him up and took him to Kasimedu. He was taken in a boat claiming the housemaid wanted to meet him secretly. Suresh was taken deep into the sea and hacked. His body was dumped in the sea.
The police have arrested six persons in connection with the case.

Speaking to News Today, Investigation officer of the case, Inspector Manohar said they have given an alert to all the Marine police stations, coast guard and fishermen. Efforts are on to trace the body. Police said Preethi will be arrested in a day or two.
