Tambaram MLA raises issue of community halls in State Assembly


Chennai: Tambaram MLA S R Raja recently batted for the inauguration of community halls in the neighbourhood. Raising the issue during the question and answer hour at the Assembly, he said, “A community hall was constructed  at Madambakkam at a cost of Rs 80 lakh in 2009. Similarly, another hall  at a cost of Rs 31 lakh, has been constructed at the Bajanai Koil Street in 37th ward. One more was built at the Erikarai Street in the 11th ward. The work for these have been completed  long back, however they are not put to use,” he said.

He further said, “Even after making several requests to officials, the facilities are unused. Necessary action should be taken in this regard.” Responding to this, Municipal Administration Minister S P Velumani, stated that steps will be taken at the earliest.
