Chennai: A techie died after ramming his vehicle against a police home guard’s two-wheeler at Perungudi in the wee hours of today.
According to police, Rajasekar (32), a resident of Chintadripet, worked at an IT company on MGR Salai, Taramani.
He was heading home after work at 1.15 am on the Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Perungudi at a high speed when he lost control and hit his vehicle against that of Dhanasekar (29), a home guard coming from the opposite direction.
Even though Rajasekar had a helmet in his bike, he was not wearing it. His head hit the median on the road and he died on the spot.
Police said that Dhanasekar was riding in the wrong direction, and he escaped without injuries.
Rajasekar’s body was sent to Government Royapettah Hospital for post mortem.
