Chennai: Kottivakkam based Appayya Dikshita Foundation organised a Maha Rudra Parayanam on the auspicious day of Kumbhabisekham of Sri Sundara Vinayak Mandir at No. 54, Subramanian Street, Abiramapuram, recently.
A press release said, “The Vedic rituals commenced with homam. Veda parayanam was started with Guru Vandanam followed by Swasthivachanam and Maha Ekadasa Rudhram. Sri G Subramanian, former Manager, Indian Bank, a Vedic Scholar and ADF’s ‘Mukhya Adyakshyaka’, led the entire proceedings.”
Many devotees from the neighbourhood have participated in the festival. Sri Chandru Sivachariar of RA Puram Vinayagar temple, along with his Sivagama Pandits, performed the kumbabhishekam with holy water collected from various rivers and Mansarover lake. People from USA and Australia also participated in the event.
