Chennai: With the completion of Metro Rail work, the traffic police have restored two-way traffic from Anna Salai to Nandhanam junction.
In order to facilitate the Chennai Metro Rail Work on Anna Salai, the stretch of Anna Salai from Nandhanam Junction to Genimi Flyover was made as one-way during 2011. Now with the completion of works on Anna Salai and in order to the restore two-way traffic on Anna Salai a trial run with traffic modifications was conducted 26 July, a press release said.
The trial run was found feasible and was appreciated by the general public and motorists. Therefore, the following traffic arrangements made during the trial run will continue and the stretch of Anna Salai from Nandhanam Junction to Genimi Flyover will be operated as two-way, traffic police said.
At Nandhanam junction, the vehicles plying on Anna Salai from Saidapet will be allowed straight towards Teynampet, right towards Chamiers Road and free left towards Venkat Narayana Road. There will be no change in the movement of vehicles on Anna Salai from Teynampet towards Saidapet.
At Nandhanam junction, the vehicles plying on Chamiers Road will be allowed straight towards Venkat Narayana Road, Right towards Anna Salai – Teynampet and free left towards Anna Salai – Saidapet.
At Nandhanam Junction, the vehicles plying on Venkat Narayana Road will be allowed straight towards Chamiers, Right towards Anna Salai – Saidapet and free left towards Anna Salai – Teynampet.
