Chennai: The accident of Unnao rape survivor rocked both Houses of Parliament today as the Opposition MPs, including DMK members, staged a protest regarding the issue.

The Opposition MPs demanded that the Home Minister reply to the issue in the House.

“CBI inquiry is already under way, FIR has been registered. Government is investigating with impartiality,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the family of the Unnao rape victim staged a protest outside King George’s Medical University trauma centre, where the victim is being treated.

The family said the accused should be punished as soon as possible and Mahesh Singh (uncle of the victim) should be released from jail.
