Chennai: A replica of Lord Athi Varadar in sayana thirukolam (lying pose) has been installed at Hindu Religions and Charitable Endowments Department stall in the Salem government trade fair.

It is a beautiful piece of work and dressed and decorated like the Kanchipuram Athi Varadar deity.Ā

The Salem stall had a VVIP visitor. Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami visited the fair and had darshan of the replica Athi Varadar in sayana thirukolam.

The Chief Minister had worshipped at Kanchipuram the original Athi Varadar following the death of five persons in the crush of devotees. He also enhanced security and other comforts for devotees and pilgrims in Kanchipuram before announcing solatium for the family of the dead persons.
