Chennai: Educationist Mrs YGP, as Rajalakshmi Parthasarathy was widely known, passed away in the city Tuesday and her last rites will be performed later today.
Mrs YGP, who ran the Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan group of schools, died at 2.40 pm yesterday due to cardiac arrest. She is the mother of famous actor Y G Mahendra and Y G Rajendra.
The body of the 93-year-old was kept for public homage at the Bharat Kalachar, a cultural organisation in T Nagar, following which the cremation will take place today. Political leaders, actors and people from various walks of life have condoled her demise.
