Hyderabad: Even a week after the BJP-led Central government abrogated Article 370, all means of communication has been cut off in Jammu and Kashmir.
Slamming this, Hyderabad MP andĀ AIMIM president Asaduddin OwaisiĀ asked the government to remove communication restrictions in Kashmir.
While addressing Eid Milap, Owaisi claimed that he had asked in the Parliament that if the people living in the State were happy let them come out of their homes. “No phone works there. Internet is a far-off thing… Why don’t you open phone lines?” he asked.
He further said thatĀ bifurcating the State into Union territories was against the principles of federalism. The State assembly’s opinion must have been taken into consideration before making such a move. He also added that Kashmir is a part of India and would remain so.
