Puducherry: On the 73rd Independence Day, Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi hosted the customary ‘At Home’ reception at Raj Nivas and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy partici[ated in it.
Among the others present were Speaker V P Sivakolundhu, PWD Minister A Namassivayam, DMK legislator K Venkatesan, Director General of Police Balaji Srivastava and Chief Secretary Ashwani Kumar. Several top officials and freedom fighters also attended the function that was held in the lawns of Raj Nivas.
Cultural events such as patriotic songs were presented by school children. The Lt Governor greeted the singers and presented them with shawls.
