Chennai: Debutant filmmaker S A Bhaskaran’s Mei features Nicky Sundaram and Aishwarya Rajesh in lead roles is ready for release 23 august.

Bankrolled by Sundaram Productions, the movie is a meta thriller that deals with the crime that happen in medicine and healthcare.

Says Bhaskaran said, “Mei is inspired from a real-life incident that I came across in 2016-2017. When I came across the incident, I had shared this with my friend Sentha Murugesan, who has written the screenplay for the film.”

“The script requires a male lead, who can convince the audience that he is an NRI. Nicky was the obvious choice. He plays an NRI, who is hit by a tragedy in his life. It is a role that is packed with suspense. Aishwarya Rajesh plays a medical representative, which is a first for a heroine and will contribute to the graph of the script.”
