Chennai: The city police received a complaint from a film producer claiming that he was cheated of Rs 47 lakh by a movie director.

According to the police, Naresh has alleged that a director approached him in 2016 claiming that he was going to make a movie with actor Vishal and had got the call-sheet for it. Based on this, Naresh agreed to produce the film.

From April to September 2016, Naresh gave the director Rs 47 lakh, it is said. Later, he realised that the director did not have any call-sheet for the actor and that he was being cheated. Yesterday, Naresh filed a complaint with the Virugambakkam police.
