Chennai: A Kerala man who lived on the pavement with his wife at Koyambedu died after a bus ran over him during a quarrel with another man yesterday.
Police said, David (48) and his wife worked at hotels. At nights, David, after consuming alcohol, would pick fight with his wife.
Last night, another pavement dweller, Singaravel (47), a native of Theni, who worked at Koyambedu market, tried to solve fight between the couple.
However, the situation went out of control with David picking a fight with Singaravel. In anger, Sinagravel pushed him to the road and a bus ran over him. His body was sent to Government Royapettah Hospital for post mortem. Police have arrested Singaravel.
