Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today ordered the opening of Manimutharu, Papanasam, Servalaru dams for irrigation purposes.
In a statement here, he said that 2,500 million cubicfeet water from these dams will be released from 15 September to 4 October for 20 days.
“Around 4,000 acres of agricultural land in Tirunelveli and 4,6107 acres of land in Thoothukudi will be benefitted by this,” he said. He further asked the people to use the water effectively without much wastage.
